It's about a broken couple. Love gone wrong.

There’s something we never said to each other
Now I know those three words meant too much
As our feelings began to fade and smother
And the tingly feeling you left faded after one last touch

I lay in bed at night sleepless, thinking of you
When I see you flirting with her, and my heart breaks
You spoke those words when I cried to you, and said “I really do”
But I feel my heart sink and the butterflies disappear through your mistakes

Those three words were just way too much for me
You said them finally, but only after she tossed you away
I kiss your cheek goodbye so I can leave and happily be
So our love can never again begin to break or sway

The day I cried, you said you loved me, but it was simply way too late
I left you behind thinking that my heartbreak must be fate
But the moments she dumped you, you saw I was your true girl
Every kiss you gave me so gentle and loving, made my mind swirl

Its those three words that hurts the most
You keep me coming back to you
But now my heart is broken, and if it becomes whole it will remain closed
Because of your mistakes, our chances at love were slim to few

The words you never spoke, run through my mind every day
The three simple words in life, I love you
Love is nothing now I see, but a simple child’s play
There’s nothing more that you can say or do
