Beautiful GoodbyeA Poem by Your TeashipThe title says it all! I will be honest when I tell you I'm not entirely sure what was going through my head! I just write, unless inspired by something or someone. This was a random spill of words. Here come the winter winds, herding all life to the ends of the earth. Oh love, where have you gone my dear? The clouds are forming and the sun is falling. It isn’t night yet, but oh how the darkness settles. When will you come? When will you come? It’s right time you returned to me; oh darling it’s time to come home. And so I ready myself for bed in a field of grass, and flowers all strewn about with a somber melody hanging in the air. Here come the rain and snow, and of this I know " I will be gone before you meet me. My precious, find the ribbon in the snow and wait for summer’s radiant glow. I’ve let go, and it was far too long for me " I thought you were dead. Now I see, but still my soul inquires: “When will you come home? When will you come home? It’s right time you returned to me.” So here I lay in the daisies with December’s gentle and cool embrace, murmuring your name to warm my stone lips; waiting for my love to arrive. With my eyes left open, just to give a beautiful goodbye. © 2014 Your Teaship |
