A Chapter by Orahemae December

The morning next of dark and doom

Begins with ring of bright and cheer.

70        I know at once who calls and why,

It’s Scarlett, the unknown-sinner,

The one who took me to my world’s end.

I answer that depressingly happy tune

And there she is, just as I hand thought

75        On the other line.  She asks why

I left without her.  Can I every tell

The truth of that question great?

I lie to her, my one true friend.

I tell her I was tired from standing on wave-rider.

80        She somehow believes the blasphemy worst

Lie of all lies.  How could she?

Can she not tell that I’m hiding

A pain too much for one person to bear?

I hang up with no good bye.

85        I leave her as she left me,

Alone to ponder what I did to deserve this.

I lay back on my long four post

There I cry myself to sleep.
