Decisions

Decisions

A Poem by Orahemae December

You ask me a question

The answer is hard to find

My only reply is a question of my own

For this answer I cannot define

You once asked me how I feel,

So, what does your heart reveal?

I’m stuck between two places

My heart cannot decide

To me, there is no logic

I’m running out of time

            One fuels the other,

But can they be without another?

I’m afraid of the hurt

Not for myself

But for you

I fear I’ll cause a self-destruct

If you gave me your heart,

            Would I break it apart?

Being with you is simple

Like breathing air

Everyday something new

Knowing you’re always there

My love you is read in card,

But why must it be so hard?

I can’t5 decide

Torn in two

My heart is in your hands

It’s now up to you

Will we risk it all for love,

Or none at all to keep our peaceful dove?
