Amidst A Lonely Day

Amidst A Lonely Day

A walk in woods of summer warmth,
Amidst a lonely day.
The leaves they try and talk to me,
Listen to what they say.
Oh don't be sad, we're here for you,
Our beauty you can behold.
Confide in us your deepest fears,
Your secrets will go untold.
Pretty good for what a tree would say,
Better than nothing at all.
A million ears for me to talk,
From now until the fall.
For in the fall the trees grow cold,
And amidst their lonely days.
I'll come and walk amongst you all,
And lend my ears your way.

I love this piece. It flows wonderfully and I couldn't help, but read it more then once. I and I'm sure many others have spent time walking through the woods to try and get away just to gather your thoughts. It's nice the way you made it that the trees will listen to what is on your mind and help you. I love the last 2 lines:
"I'll come and walk amongst you all,
And lend my ears your way."
How you turn it around that you will in return be back for them. Nicely done.
