The Contest of Motivation

The Contest of Motivation

A Poem by Ric Miner

Watch, as patience leaves,
Replaced by laziness
And self deceit,
God damnit,
I thought I had it,
as it turns out,
it was just another moment gone manic.

Full force ahead, it says,
speaking only in a tongue it knows instead,
spewing lies like magic,
incanting a life turned tragic,
whatever,
I thought I had it,
turns out it's just another moment abandoned.

About
Mostly a poet and lyricist. I'd say I'm here because I'm looking for an outlet, and feedback, since my friends are sick of being a sounding board, and I'm pretty sure none of them are Engl majors lol... more..
