Entry 8. Somatose

Entry 8. Somatose

A Chapter by Ric Miner

Somatose

The feeling of never belonging to a group or clique

Social webs are fashioned in elusive and intricate ways. Weaving together many lives through shared experiences, and emotional tethers. Somewhere in between the strands and nodes of the web, lie those of us who never quite felt like they belong to one or the other. Always on the move, searching to see if there's a sense of belonging hiding somewhere they may have missed before. They watch as others group together, find Camaraderie and grow. All the while, they have one friend here, and one friend there. The sense of belonging eludes them, again and again. At home, work, or even in intimate relationships. Like an oily hand in water, they are expelled from any formal sense of connection, and end up unattached, lying buoyant somewhere in somatose.

About
Mostly a poet and lyricist. I'd say I'm here because I'm looking for an outlet, and feedback, since my friends are sick of being a sounding board, and I'm pretty sure none of them are Engl majors lol... more..
