Foot in mouth

Foot in mouth

A Poem by Ric Miner

We get ourselves tied, tounge
Don't we?
Wrapped up in tough times
Holding
Ignominious threats inside
Knowing
I pay the price
For you and me

But that hardly seems fair
When I'm the one
Who's here
To step up and repair
The damage done
By your flare

Or maybe it was the gods
That made a death trap
Out of a traitorous tongue
gone unmapped

Well who cares
I know you don't

I am not an english major, never took any classes either for writing soo take my praise with a grain of salt. This is damn good. A poem should have a beat, be obvious yet hold symbolism and deeper meanings. This has captured all of that. Sorry your friends sound bored. Getting even one person to care about are writing is sometimes the biggest mountain us writers have to climb.

Wow, thanks much! Regardless of having a degree, a compliment of that regard is still very kind.

About
Mostly a poet and lyricist. I'd say I'm here because I'm looking for an outlet, and feedback, since my friends are sick of being a sounding board, and I'm pretty sure none of them are Engl majors lol... more..
