"Senseless Crimes"

It hurts my feelings to watch the news,
innocent victims being abused.
Another statistic, of a senseless crime,
the thought of it all, just blows my mind.

Children dying in the streets.
Senior citizens robbed and beat.
People are afraid, to leave their homes,
they’re shooting and killing over a damn cell phone.

Sex related crimes, at an all time high,
Child molestation, is enough to make you cry.
These crimes are getting, weird and weirder,
you heard what happened, in the movie theatre.
The story in Colorado, was oh, so sad,
the thought of it all, just makes me mad!

What will it take, to stop these crimes?
Should we give the perpetrators, longer time?
Should the city hire, more police?
Or will citizens packing guns, make it cease?
Republicans fighting, Democrats,
lawmakers imitating, spoiled brats.
We need to make politicians, earn their jobs.
when they were campaigning, they promised crimes would be resolved.
Now that they’ve acquired, the political seat,
crimes are running rampant, on the city streets!
