Today‘s special….A Poem by Jennifer Warringtonthis was also written a while ago (at a restaurant could you guess) but revised recently...it still needs a lot of workYou praise Me Wiping down the same Yellow- browned spot of counter My knuckles grasping the crusted handle of antigen cups One brown eye enlarged The antique bacterial remnants coagulate Here To Make a wooden representation Of us Carved Between my pulled incisors And a half eaten olive pitt I realize this is all I can offer Half eaten promises Of recipes Of frittatas With rum Half alcoholic Passed out after a bender. A piece of grotto potato A grasp of parsley between the teeth A tether of tarragon Hanging On the loose lips of This half insane woman Deciphering recipes into tea leaves
