September's Dawn

September's Dawn

A Poem by Kawiria J.C.
"

This is a little poem I wrote earlier last year, in the middle of the night. I found it in my old notebook and thought it was fairly good for the sleep-deprived state I was in.

"

I couldn’t sleep the night summer ended.

I looked and listened instead of closing my eyes.

The house was still, the world held its breath "

Til I heard an owl tell the world goodnight,

And through my window saw a rising light

Before I knew it " the break of dawn.

That year’s summer was forever gone.
