I found a magazine. 

Its cover read:

"How to Improve the Quality of your Writing"

"in Six Easy Steps."

.

.

The first, second, third and

fourth steps 

were unbelievably insulting,

the fifth advised that I read my work aloud 

.

and the sixth implied that reading great material

by highly accredited authors

. 

is the best method for guided, self improvement.

It was hard not to slap myself in the forehead with it

because I realized 

that it evidently contained the answers

that my therapist, obviously, didn't.

Learning to see the comedy 

In the ridiculousness of our lives

Is how we find the melody

That helps us to survive
