There is something about that image,

Those, even, that I think it unbelievably important to register:

A parasol,

A sail, 

A boardwalk,

A Ferris wheel,

Ice cream.

That we realize how important it is to cherish our peacetime -

Have to love a poem that expresses gratitude, for did not Eckhart say the only prayer we need offer is "Thanks?" Accessibility seems to dull the awareness of the fragility of all that can so easily be taken away. I routinely take for granted filtered water, while my great great grandfather probably drank from a well every day of his life. Modernity has certainly made us more comfortable, but at the same time maybe more vulnerable.

Hi John, once again I'm thankful that you're taking the time to review. Admittedly, I've been in a bit of a funk for some time and haven't been able to produce to my usual standards.

I'm not entirely satisfied with this one here (the premise is good, but the execution feels flat) though, none the less, I'm trying to get out of my own way a little more and part of that is managing my own expectations.

None the less, I agree entirely w/your thoughts and in many ways can relate. Amenities can be double edged if we forget the standard to which they're held - after all, luxuries are only luxuries to those who've been regularly deprived of them, or even to those who haven't had the chance to ever indulge in them.

I appreciate your taking the time to read, and as you so consistently do, to respond - I quite enjoy your reviews and despite my misgivings about the work, find great encouragement in them.

I hope you're well these days, and though I think it important not to forget that access to clean water is itself, a luxury, I wouldn't be disinclined to direct you to some ice cream, every so often.
