The good thing about metaphysical bullets is they don't leave blood and brains splattered on the opposite wall. The smoke mentioned seems to have been from something other than gunpowder, something that can indeed impart bliss. But if that was a literal revolver, I hope you really weren't playing Russian Roulette. A lot of people have been killed by "unloaded" guns.

For clarity John, the poem is about playing with ideas - and correlates the revolver, bullets and 'smoke'* with the dangers that an idea can sometimes make manifest.

In turn, these dangers can be exciting, exhilarating even, but by correlating them to bullets and to roulette, which are both simultaneously dangerous and exhilarating, I'm trying to draw a link between the roulette relationship and thoughts, or beliefs, as weapons - or specifically 'bullets' for the weapon.

To be clear, I chose those images for an intentional, specific reason - not because I'm at risk for gunplay.

I wanted to clarify, but was preoccupied when I saw your comment last.
