An Ode to an Incomplete Love AffairA Poem by Ookpikhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Yz2t1QeIHQ
.
. She's stardust - that's the way I should describe her. . . She's a twinkle in the eye, a card dance before the dove and dew before an autumn dawn. . The magic she has, the magic she should know she has, is the kind of thing that could set a still heart beating. . The kind of thing that could burst a cloud, dispel the rain and repair a fracture as anesthesia for the pain. . She carries youth in a smile, throws sunshine with her laughter and pulls a man into an awkward lean . At the thought of a thousand loves, to a thousand lifetimes and every second spent in between. . She has magic in a broken heart; she has electricity in a dream, and teardrop strength . The likes of which . Only those who know the light she shapes . Will ever get to see. . . I would love to love her. . I would love to see the lash she'd leave on a world that doesn't deserve the sting. . .
I would love as much to leave love alone, value enough the care she holds . And only hear her sing. . . And if again she isn't aware, . If in the end it doesn't matter, . I hope at least she does consider . Her salvation from the nightmare, . And its coinciding, relieved aversion . . From the wake of my disaster. - A.S.M.B. © 2020 Ookpik |
