While in BeijingA Poem by OokpikA goofy poem I wrote on my travelsWide eyes I see, not figuratively As they fall upon a dancing fool Sweating out his feelings And all his pain Into a long abandoned swimming pool.
But thankfully I am settling In what I would call a crazy place With the help of friends and family And hot familiar water Upon my troubled face
But lightly I do now proceed As I love life tremendously Without worry and hopefully Without my enemy Anxiety
..
Hakuna Matada I will repeat Despite my growing amnesties I am not perfect yet obviously There is no end to my humility
After all of life’s continuous defeats I will walk forward Upon my own remaining two feet
I will endure as I always have And grow from what I am now a smallish lad To an even bigger stronger man a feat I'm capable I know I am
In the words of my godfather
"To Fall and Fly Again"
Words Daedalus Would have told his son If he had not flown Too close to the Sun.
I myself know Icarus As my own misfortune Is ridiculous
However I am still with my life Despite the pain and constant sting Despite my flying with only one wing
Devotion is now the key To finding life’s prosperity
And understanding of the mind Never hesitating to be kind As in life we are all unable To hit the button called rewind
A button I often wish to press When crossing in much distress
