Remember

Remember

A Poem by Vee
"

This is about the first time I met the man who is now my boyfriend of over a year.

"

Hello stranger.
Have I seen your face before?
Oh, I'm sure.
Somewhere under the pale moonlight?
I remember now. Yes, of course.
You were as white as snow
looking just as cold.
And somehow I knew you were warm
somewhere inside.
A dim campfire shining on your flawless complexion;
I admired your laughter as I watched
you with your friends.
Quickly became jealous of those sitting close to you.
How does someone who's name I don't even know
bring a blush to my cheeks?
And now we lay under the apple tree
making technicolored memories
for our minds to refer to when times get harder.
I remember now.
I can see when you carried me down the hill,
when you caught me up in your arms
and kissed me gently.
Forever to be called my  "The Notebook moment".
You see, I can remember your face.
Of course, how could I forget something so beautiful,
and perfectly imperfect?
I remember our first kiss, listening to the song that
became our song, and only ours.
Looking into your icy blue eyes and
laughing because
it felt so
absolutely right.
Was I right? Oh yes, darling, without a doubt.
We were meant to hold each other forever, you'll see.
But let's get back to our story.
I remember the first time I heard your voice,
deep and intelligent sounding. Soothing like the ocean waves.
The first time you spoke to me
only me
and I felt beautiful, just for standing near you.
And of course, I must ask.
Why me? So many amazing, beautiful girls near you
and you chose me?
Apparently,  God  blessed me.
And we're growing older by the minute,
and somehow what we have is more than
 "high school love".
We have a deep burning inside
that explodes when we are separated.
It flames up like the bonfire that showed me your face.
What we have is forever, fate, destiny,
love.
The best love cannot be defined,
it is blind.
And that's the love I have for you.
First I blindly fell for you,
and now I can't explain how much I feel for you.
As we lay down in each others arms,
I listen to your beating heart.
I listen to your breathing slow down as you drift off to sleep.
Oh God, I hope you're dreaming of me.
If love could make you strong
I could take down Superman.
It's just something to think about.
But oh, stranger, as we grow and learn;
promise me, you'll never forget me.
Because I'm slowly finding out,
you were never a stranger after all.
You've been with me this whole time,

and I'll always remember you.

Really great in showing everything you love about him, and the similes/metaphors you use to describe him intenified the reason you love him, and why you may be confused on why he choose you, but in the end youre joyful you've known eachother! Awesomeness :D
