I Hate Poetry

I decided to express my feelings on poetry...

I hate poetry.

It’s not all bad, I enjoy Poe, and Alighieri,

but recently it’s just not doing it for me.

Writing it is boring,

and reading it is annoying.

It’s all too restrictive

unless it’s a narrative.

Why make it hard to be creative?

My teachers say it’s like a puzzle,

but I think they need a muzzle.

No wonder so many poets went broke,

their writing makes me want to croak.

Keep in mind that this is a joke.

I've been seeing a lot of poetry on this website, so I decided to make fun of it in the form of a poem. I don't write poetry so it's probably not that good. I hope you thought this was funny, thanks for reading!

Lol I thought this is something serious but then it turned out great. On the other hand, making it real would not be that bad hehe as long as you could defend it that much.

When in doubt and the muse is on a coffee break and the writing brain that usually does just won't, it never fails to mix it up with some poetry.

That you can do that -- not all writers can -- is pretty dang awesome. :)
