Sometimes

Sometimes

A Poem by Drea Dawson

It’s a jaded love
It’s bright
And disorganized
And you loathe it
The way you loathe me
Sometimes

I’m dreadfully sad
Which is why
I smile so much
Why I laugh so loud
And people love my laugh
But they don’t love me

I’m learning
That you don’t care
And you don’t see me enough
To notice my dispair
I’m running rampant in the streets
Without you there to balance me

I’m wound up
And you’re tied to me
So you wanna cut that chord
You wanna set yourself free

You rip me to shreds
Then you get me
Superglued together,
Naked in your bed

I like you the best
And I owe you the most
But your mind is too busy
And your cell phone just says No

It’s a jaded love
It’s bright
And disorganized
And you loathe it
The way you loathe me
Sometimes

Aww, sad poem, ain't it? Sad reality too for some. I hate having that feeling of attatchment to someone who everyone, including me, knows isn't sharing that same feeling of attatchment. But about the poem itself, I like how you repeat the first stanza to end off the poem, it's a great way to end it if you ask me. All in all, good write, I enjoyed reading it, and was glad I could relate. Thanks for sharing.
