Sonnet, she said

Sonnet, she said

A Poem by Drea Dawson

"

Shall I say that
you make Aphrodite pale,
For the goddess herself
revels in your beauty

You make the sky grow dim,
For the light that
shines from your eyes
has no luminescent match

Your smile is so warm,
It melts the snow on
the mountains of Kilimanjaro
For there is no distance too great
to be affected by your presence

Do you want me to say
that there is no sun without you
That the Pagans now worship you
along with the stars in the sky

Do you want me to profess my color
and tell you that you soften my edges
and make my words heavy with emotion
interwoven with pledges on purpose

You make my hands nervous
and my feet busy
You make my eyes wander
and my heart a-flutter

If you wanted me
I would be your pet
come when you call
leave when you said

I absolutely love this,
it is amazing, and makes me wish someone would write me poetry :}
