Whisper Door

Whisper Door

A Poem by Drea Dawson
"

Spring 2009

"

I asked you to come out with me
To run rampant in the streets
I asked you to be unafraid,
Loud and risky.
But you just waited behind the door
Tiny sliver of your eye in the peephole
As you whisper, ‘No’,
At the whisper door.
You just bite your nails
And hate me for existing
Terrible little boy
You keep yourself
Hidden from the world.

whisper door, hiding from the world..this is delving, abstract and speaks metaphorically on many levels,
Nicely done!
