I Wonder

I Wonder

A Poem by Drea Dawson
"

Fall 2007

"
I imagine what you would do to me
I wonder if you'd be sweet.
I think of your hands
caressing my neck
Just to see me react to your touch

I wonder about your kiss
How your lips will fit
And whether you'll let me lead
or want me to follow you
I wonder if I'll let myself go
or picture the perpetual time clock
on this new infatuation slowing ticking away with each kiss

You've got this steady mix
of spiritual surfer boy and
well-rehearsed bullshit
and your tonguing my bruise
laughing at my black and blue
making you're way past what was
and creating something new

I wonder if I should trust you
You give me moments of brevity
coupled with compliments over food
I say so much to myself
with pen and paper
many days later
all alone in my room
