A Screen play that i wrote back in highschool for a friend, we were all suppose to act it out when i was done, but it got a little more complicated then that

 

Ties That Bind

Act 1 scene 1 day

(Victoria walks out of a building. She sees Josh across the street. She walks over to him.)

Victoria: What the hell are you doing here?

Josh: This is a free country still. A man can walk down the street cant he.

(She grabs him by the arm and drags him into a nearby ally.)

Victoria: I know it’s a free country but I know better than to think your just walking down the street. I know your spying on me.

Josh: Why would I want to do that? I don’t care anymore, plus I have more important matters to attend to…

(The building she walked out of explodes)

Victoria: Well get moving then, I don’t want to see your face around me again.

Josh: I still don’t see why you let me live in the first place. Don’t you normally kill your ex’s?

Victoria: If you keep pushing it I will. Now go.

(Josh leaves the alley and walks to the left. Victoria follows then heads to the right.)

Act 1 scene 2

(Victoria walks into a Victorian style mansion. Four people are sitting in the living room watching news broadcast.)

Alex: I see it went well. (He looks up from the broadcast about a fire.)

Victoria: Yea it went all right but the explosion could have been a little smaller. (She glares at Brian. As she wipes debrie off her jacket.)

Brian: Well according to my calculations it should have been just enough. But they could have had some explosive chemicals there to make it larger.

Athena: Well I think it still looks like an accident from what the police are saying. And from the looks of it the fire is burning hot enough to get ride of everything.

Victoria: Yea, We got lucky again this time.I saw a few more chemicals in there then Marcus told me about.

Brian: See it is Marcus’s fault. He is the one who made that big scene the last time too.

Victoria: Where is he anyway?

Alex: He left about 20 minutes ago said he had some business to attend to.

Victoria: That little s**t, He knows I hate it when you guys split up during a job. After today I don’t want any one going out alone either.

Alex: Why?

Victoria: I saw josh skulking around outside of the building. He said he was just walking by but I don’t believe that for a hot second.

Alex: Well he does live in that part of town Vicky he could have just been walking down the street and spotted you.

Athena: When did you become the optimist?

Alex: Don’t get me wrong, I hate that guy but….. What’s my point again?

Victoria: Well I don’t like him being there. It makes me nervous. Well I’m off to take a shower I need to get this rubble out of my hair. (She heads up the stairs.)

Act 1 scene 3 the phone call

(Alex’s phone rings)

Alex: Hello

Voice: Hello is this Alex

Alex: Yes

(Alex gets up and walks into the dining room)

Voice: Good I was wondering if you could take care of something for me.

Alex: When and where and how much?

Voice: His name is …… (Fades out)

Act 1 scene 4

(Everyone is sitting at the dining room table listening to Alex.)

Alex: Alright we have another job.

Athena: Already?

Alex: This guy’s name is Jeffery McDermott. He is some big business tycoon that made it big during the dot.com boom

Brian: I’m surprised he managed to stay afloat after that disaster.

Alex: Well he had help, According to my research on this guy he deals in the black market as well. Mostly just firearms, from small hand guns to AK 47s,

Athena: That’s some heavy artillery. One questions Alex just one tinny one. How the hell did you find all this out in one afternoon?

Alex: Well I know a guy who knows a guy who has a sister that dated this guy who knows him and they told me.

Athena: Oh very funny.

Alex: You know I can’t tell you Athena then I would have to kill you. (Oh yea like thats orginal. you hear from Athena across the table.) The hit has to be on first of November and that’s in 2 weeks. If we go for it will have to be on the 31^st That is of course if we want to take it. (They all glare at Victoria)

Victoria: What are you all looking at me for? (Their looks of judgment increase and Athena rolls her eyes)Why are you all worried about me? We can take this one and after i belive its time for a break.

Alex: We don’t have to take this one, we can just go on a vaca now. (With almost to much Concern in his voice.)

Victoria: Why we can use the extra money from this job. Besides I don’t know why you guys are worried about me. That was years ago, I’m all better. Promise. (Holds her hand beside her head and pretends to put her hand on a book.)

Alex: But….

Athena: Just drop it Alex we are doing this, so we better go get our stuff ready. (Athena Hops up from the table and skips out of the room. Brian looks at Alex and Victoria and then leaves with out saying a word.)

Alex: Vicky I really think we should sit this one out, I don’t like it when you work on the anniversary of his death, you could get distracted and killed.(A look of Deep concern runs across his face,but doesnt stay.)

Victoria: Alex I know you care about my well being but it’s ok, like Athena said we are doing this. Anyways he is dead and so is that part of my life. so drop it.(Her eyes flash with anger.) Now we need to catch the next flight to where?

Alex: Montgomery Alabama. It’s the only airport closest to where he is.

Victoria: What the hell is he doing there?

Alex: He is at a Vacation home in Plainville Al.

Victoria: Well let’s go pack.

(Victoria stands from her seat and walks out of the room, Alex remains, a look of greif in his eyes, for a moment before following after,)

Act 1 scene 5 (everyone is packed and waiting in the living room with their entire luggage in the forayer waiting on Marcus.)

Athena: Where the hell is he?

Victoria: Oh his a*s better show up soon. Alex why the hell did you let him leave. Everyone knows not to leave the designated area while I’m on a job.

Alex: HE wouldn’t listen to me, and it wasn’t like I was going to tie him to a chair or anything.

Athena: I would have. That arrogant b*****d all ways breaks the rules. I am getting tired of it.  

Brian: I am as well. I want the guy off the team. He always drags his a*s around when we are on a job. Can’t you just sack him or something Vicky?

Victoria: Your complaints are duly noted. But I will deal with his insubordination my way. Did you call him again?

Alex: He said he was on his way.

Athena: He better get here soon before we leave his a*s...

(Marcus walks through the door at the same moment)

Victoria: I am going to deal with you later. But for now we leave.

Marcus: I have to go get my bags packed.

Athena: Oh don’t worry about it me and Brian already packed them.

Alex: Now let’s head out.

(Everyone leaves the house and gets into 2 separate cars, then shows them getting out at the airport, then them landing at the other airport.)

Alex: Alright we have got two rentals so Victoria you take this one and I’ll take the other.

Victoria: Athena your with me and all the guys are together.

(It shows them leaving the airport and getting into their cars.)

Athena: So what’s the plan for this on?

Victoria: Why do you ask, it’s going to be the same as all the others.

Athena: Well I just thought that you would like to do something special with this one considering.

Victoria: No I’m not going to do what I did last time on that day.

Athena: ok well it’s an option you know.

Victoria: I know.

Athena: How long have we been on the road?

Victoria: a couple of hours. It will take a few more to get there still.

Athena: Can we please stay at a hotel tonight? Please?

Victoria: Fine since you begged. Call Alex and tell him.

Athena: Yay (Athena calls Alex)

Alex: Yea

Athena: were going to stop to sleep tonight

Alex: Good I saw a sigh for a motel on up the road.

Athena: Great. (To Victoria) there should be a motel on up the road.

Act 2 scene 1

(They pull into the parking lot of the Motel. Victoria and Alex go into the office.)

Alex: Hello?

(A man gets up from a back room and stands in front of the two on the other side of the counter.)

Clerk: What do you want?

Alex: We need 3 rooms

Clerk: For the two of ya

Victoria: No our friends are out side

(The clerk leans to his left to see out of the window. Athena waves at him from outside.)

Clerk: How yea gonna pay?

Alex: Cash

Clerk: I don’t want no wild parties now. (After he and Alex exchange cash for keys. Alex and Victoria walk out of the office not listening to the last words the clerk says.)

Victoria: Alright we have rooms, 14, 15, and 16, Athena and I will take 13 and Alex and Marcus will take 15 and Brian gets 14 all to himself.

Brian: yes (everyone grabs their bags and heads to their designated rooms. Cuts to Athena and Victoria in there room.)

Athena: Man I need a shower. That flight was just nasty.

Victoria: Well don’t use all the hot water I wanna take one after I get done with this. (Holds up her gun cleaning supplies. She begins to unload her all the guns she brought with her, on to the bed.)

Athena: Do you really need all of those for one man? We aren’t fighting a war you know.

Victoria: Its best to be prepared rather than under armed. Plus it’s not like you carry anything special.

(Athena goes through her suit case and pulls out her cloths and a small pea shooter.)

Athena: I like my gun thank you very much.

Victoria: I know you do. I like all of these as well. And besides with that little gun how would you protect yourself from all those bad men lurking around.

Athena: You always think the worst in people. But it isn’t surprising considering your line of work. (Athena leaves into the bathroom. And leaves Vitoria to clean her guns. It cuts to Alex, Brian and Marcus in room 15 Marcus has hooked up his computer and is barring his nose in it.)

Brian: So are you actually working on your stuff this time Marcus?

Marcus: Leave me alone. What I do is not your concern. Baldy.

Brian: Short s**t.

Alex: You two play nice now.

Brian: Shut up Alex, I’m gonna laugh my a*s of when you get canned Marcus. Don’t act like you don’t know it’s coming. You’ve been slacking on your duties and Vicky is getting pissed.

Alex: He is right you know Marcus you don’t want Vicky to fire you either.

Marcus: Yea I know all of this guys I know that she kills people she fires. We all know the stories Alex. It still doesn’t mean I’m afraid of her

Brian and Alex: You should be.

Brian: Well you should think about that, I’m off to my room.

(Brian leaves and Alex goes to his bed and turns on the TV.)

Act 2 scene 2

(Alex walks out of his room and slams the door behind him. Victoria looking clean steps out of her room as well.)

Victoria: Having a lover spat I see.

Alex: That guy is infuriating. Why did you place me with him?

Victoria: So you could keep an eye on him. He has been acting strangely for a while and I was hoping you could find out why.

Alex: I’ll see what I can do. So what brings you out here?

Victoria: came to get a pop out of the machine, but I don’t have any change.

(Alex hands her 2 dollars, as he does so a man wearing a dark hoodie walks out of room 13 and heads into a black pickup truck.)

Alex: That guy looked angry.

Victoria: I noticed I wonder what about?

(Victoria gets her and Athena a pop and heads back into her room so does Alex.)

Act 2 scene 3 (the next morning Brian is taking a piss. He sees red and blue lights flashing from his bathroom windows. He runs out of the bathroom and runs into the adjoining room.)

Brian: THE POLICE ARE HERE!

Alex: What are you talking about? (He looks groggily toward the window and sees the lights) Holy s**t, get your stuff and ill wake Victoria.

Brian: good luck. (He leaves into his room. Alex goes to the girl’s room; he grabs a pen off of the desk and throws it at Victoria. She sits straight up and points a gun at him.)

Victoria: What the hell do you think you’re doing? You of all people know better than to wake me up.

Alex: There are cops. Pack your s**t we need to go now.

(Victoria and Athena gather their bags and head into Brian room when someone knocks on the door. Victoria answers the door. )

Victoria: Hello officer.

Officer: Hello Mama I’m sorry to bother you, but you wouldn’t have happened to see anything strange last night, or heard anything at all?

Victoria: No officer we didn’t hear anything last night. But we did get here pretty late.

Officer: Well thanks for your help mama. (The officer walks away and Victoria closes the door. Everyone is standing behind her.)

Victoria: Let’s get the f**k out of here!

(They get all their stuff back in to the cars and drive off. Brian, Alex and Marcus are in the last vehicle.)

Brian: Well that was nerve racking. It was right next to me man.

Marcus: Oh shut up Brian your such a pansy a*s little b***h.

Brian: Oh sayen s**t when you looked like you wet your pants when the cops came to the door.

Alex: Both of you shut The F**k Up. I don’t think that was just a random coincidence and I know Victoria thinks the same.

(Goes to the first car with Victoria and Athena)

Athena: Whoa that was freaken close Vicky, That person getting killed right after we got there that’s just weird don’t you think.

Victoria: Very Weird. It still doesn’t feel right, something odd is happening. Almost like someone wants us to keep moving.

Act 2 scene 4

(In the town on Plainville Magnus, mark, Deric, Josh are having a meeting in the foyer of a mansion. Set atop a hill.)

Deric: How’s’ it coming Mark?

Mark: Exactly where it should be Deric. They are on their way as we speak.

Josh: Yea with no thanks to you dipshit, they saw you walk out of the room.

Deric: Well Josh that isn’t really a problem out of this group the only person they don’t know is Mark.

Josh: We got lucky on that one.

Magnus: That Does not matter now, what matters now is that they are on their way here and we need to make the final preparations for their arrival.

Deric: Well Magnus you will be please with the note that everyone is in their places and are waiting for your command.

Magnus: Good the more believable the easier for use to get them here. Everything should be in motion now. Their arrival is the last piece of this puzzle.

Josh: I still don’t see why we are going to kill her.

Magnus: You would never understand why I must kill her. I must repay her for what she did.

Josh: Whatever dude I’m just in it for the money remembers.

Deric: You’ll get your money Josh when this job is over.

Act 2 scene 5

(Back with Victoria and the gage at a convince store getting gas and snacks. Victoria and Alex are inside and the rest are outside.)

Brian: How much longer Atheny? I don’t think my a*s can take much more of this.

Athena: How many times have I told you not to call me that? To answer your question maybe 1 hour or an hour and a half.

(Inside)

Alex: I wanted to talked to you about what happened this morning.

Victoria: What about it?

Alex: It just seemed a little odd that we were staying at a motel where someone was murdered.

Victoria: I know Alex I feel the same way but if someone was trying to do something it doesn’t make sense to do that. We are doing the job so why try and get us caught or try and make us hurry up. It doesn’t make sense. And how would someone know we were stopping there.

Alex: ok fine but I still have an uneasy feeling about this one Vicky.

Victoria: And they call me paranoid.

(Back outside.)

Athena: You know I wonder why Alex and Vicky haven’t gotten together.

Brian: It might be because of Vicky’s past, and the fact she has known him for so long that she sees him as a brother.

Marcus: Who the f**k cares. It’s their f*****g business not ours.

Athena: Oh Mr. Sourpuss speaks. The man who hasn’t gotten laid in a year.

Marcus: How the hell do you know if I’ve gotten laid?

Athena: Well I am the computer expert you know.

Marcus: Have you been fucken watchen me.

Athena: I don’t have too you have the implant I just track your movements.

Brian: dude I forgot about those things.

Athena: Yea you can do that but I don’t usually watch where people are I find people need their privacy and considering they were implanted only to find us when we are lost.

(Victoria and Alex walk outside.)

Victoria: Here is lunch every one. (She proceeds to hand out little snack cakes to everyone. They get back into the cars and drive off.)

Act 3 scene 1

(The group is going down a dirt road surrounded by tall pine trees.)

Victoria: ok were the hell are we Athena?

Athena: Don’t worry Vicky we are on the right road. Just keep heading in this direction.

(shows the other car with Alex marus and brian)

Marucs: I think we have reached the end of sivilation as we know it.

Brian: I can agree with you there.

Alex: What a miracle you two agree on something.           

Marcus: Oh shut up Alex.

Brian: (to marcus) Why are you with us anymore. You don’t like any of us Not me, Alex, Athena, epically not Victoria. Why do you stay.

Marcus: I have my reason and I don’t need to explain myself to the likes of you. Its between me and myself alright.

Brian: Couward. Your just afraid to leave. (Then he just turns to the window.)

(Cuts back to the other car.)

Victoria: I belive we have arrived.

(Athena looks up from her map and they see a little sign saying welcome to plainveiw that is old and decrepid.)

Victoria: Alrighty first things first finding a hotel or motel if they even have one. This place is so small if you blink youll pass it.

Athena: Well then we’ll just have to drive really slowly and try not to blink.

(You see the two cars driving down the small main street. No one is outside. )

Athena : Over there (she points out the right window. There is a large three story house.) It’s a little bed and breakfast.

Victoria: That will do.

(she pulls into the parking lot and brain pulls in behind her. Alex heads out of the car first And heads into the Bed and breakfast with Victoria.)

Victoria: Hello?

(the clerk is stands up from behind the counter.)

Clerk: Hello what can I do fur ya dis mornin?

Alex: No we just need three rooms.

Clerk: For da both of ya

Alex: No our friends are out side.

Clerk: Alrighty ill see what I’ave. (he rifals through a bunch of papers then looks at the both of them.) We’se only gots two rooms left.

Victoria: Will take them. (the clerk hands her the keys and they go back out side.)

Brian: So what do we get? Please tell me in not alone again.

Victoria: Its guys and girls tonight.

Brian: Yay. I hate sleeping in a new place alone.

Athena: Oh you are such a wossy. (they head up to the rooms. )

Vitoria: I want you guys to go ahead and start tonight and we get everything else tomorrow. We don’t have but tomorrow to figure every thing out so be quick but thurow. And Marcus I want to talk to you for a moment. (they have reached the top of the stairs. And their rooms. She holds the door open for him. He drops his stuff off at the doors threashold. Victoria walks in and shut the door.) I Want to speak to you about your performance. Its lacking and it almost cost me. I am letting you off light by not doing what I should. I am going to give you one more chance if you don’t take advantage of it then you know whats going to happen.

Marcus: I know you’ll fire me. Or more like fire upon me.

Victoria: That’s entirely up to you Marcus. You can choose to do your part or die its that simple.

Marcus: I dought that, you would kill me even if I just quit.

Victoria: Well I cant have loose ends going out their letting people know who I am how I operate. I would see any one dead if they started to blab about me.

Marcus: Then why didn’t you kill Josh? I never understood that, If your policy is to kill everyone.

Victoria: He isn’t smart enough to betray me. He doesn’t know how to be anything other than a two bit crook. But if I feel he even whispers my name he’s dead as would you be.

Marcus: That’s just fucked up

Victoria: No one ever accused me of being nice. Now go get me something I can use or Die not a hard choice. Now get out of my room.

(Maruse opens the door, Athena and Brian fall into the room. Alex is standing in the arch way of his room. He steps over Athena and Brian and goes into her room and shuts the door.)

Alex: So how did it go? Did you give him the talk?

Victoria: Yea and I can honestly say he took it better than you did. But I feel like something is being hidden from me.

Alex: You don’t think he is plaining something do you?

Victoria: I don’t know right now. Its still to early to tell. Well off to work you go.

Act 3 scene 2

(All of the bad guys are sitting in the living room of the mansion house in Plainview. That same day.)

Deric: They have arrived

Josh: Good the sooner we do this the sooner I can leave.

Mark: What the hurry josh? You seem kinda antsy, kinda skidish. Not up for the job are we?

Josh: Sorry if I don’t like the idea of her getting back together with him. (he points to the Magnus who is sitting on the couch next to him.)

Magnus: (he holds up his finger to tell mark to shut up.) It does not matter weather or not he likes what is going to happen. But its that or her death.

Deric: Well lets just get on with it alrighty. I want this to happen smoothly no fuckups. (he looks to mark then josh. Then we are back with Victoria and her gang.)

Victoria: so what have we learned so far?

Athena: Well I found out that Mr. Mcdermott comes here for vacation to get away from he black market deals and his regular job. Every one knows he is here but no one contacts him.

Brian: Honestly we have enough information on his life but I don’t think it will help us kill him. He has no drug addictions , doesn’t smoke doesn’t drink that often, for a black market dealer he is offaly clean.

Victoria: Well that sucks , its always easyer if they have an addiction, accident it is then. Well we need to get survallance on him here so we can find a way to kill mr clean. I was hopen I could just od him. I like those. Athena you and marcus are Survallance for this one. Brian you get the blue prints to the building see if the building is old. Any old wiring or gas lines. Alex find safe points in this town we need to get at least on for you guys when I go.

Alex: We start in the morning. Meet back here at noon.

Act 3 scene 3

(silent scene. Athena and Marcus are setting up some carmeas . Alex is drining down all the roads to get a good feel of the town. Brian heads to their local library and looks things up there. )

Act 3 scene 4

( the group has reconveded at the hotel and has everything on the table in Victorias room.)

Athena: Alrighty from what we saw he stays in the house and doesn’t go any where. I put a monitor on his phone line to see who he calls and from the records its mostly just the pizza guy. He delivers every night. This dude is a hermit. He gets every thing delivered to his door. And every one is check.  By three armed security gaurds and from what we could see 6 dogs.

Marcus: The servalance video is online. But there isn’t much on it. Like she said there are three armed guards at the front gate, at least 6 dogs two at the front four in back, now he has a 8 foot steel reinforced brickwall all the way around his property. And no visible access points besides the gates. Now his electic systems is a little bit more complicated.

Athena: Yea no one can crack it. I know I tried once and it almost got me caught. I but that’s when I found a break in the system. A small glitch that would make it easy to nock out. The grid runs all over the property at night I’m guessing because I saw all the little moduals all over the grounds.

Victoria: Brian what did you get?

Brian: I love old librarys they have every thing you need. (he lays out the blue prints of the house.) I also have gas and power lines and phone. I scanned the whole thing and I don’t see anything out of the ordinary. (Victoira looks at the map for a few minutes, then looks back at the group.)

Victoira: The roof. Its gonna have to be the roof. It’s the only vantage point I can see. Could you guys see where he spends most of his time? What room specificly.

Athena: hold on a moment and I can give you something better. (she pulls out her computer and starts typing. In a few moments she has a 3D model of the house.) Ok if I calculate the data from our camera and this new information I think I can pinpoint his exact location. Ah there in the study.

Victoira: Alex what did you find?

Alex: A local dinner right off the main road. Easy in and out. No one would notice we were there it’s a busy place.

Victoria: Good. You guys know the retune if I don’t call with in the hour then high tail it out of there.

Athena; yes mother. Now back to how your going to do this. It has to be an easy in and out. The roof I don’t think is an option. He has sencers up there too. And there heat and motion so unless your invisible and cold blooded your fucked that way.

Brian: we could always go with the classic.  The old pizza man bit.

Alex: No one can beat a classic but its not like we can just walk up to the door with a gun and say hi then bang bang your dead. Its not that easy any more.

Marcus: You could go through here. (he points to a pipe on the blue prints that looks a little to small for person but leads off the land.) Its here on the gas lines. It already ahs a main line but then you have this pipe. Its an escape tunnel. Its masked as a gas line to keep it from being noticed. But look here on the gas plans. Its not there.

Athena: there are probably sceners in there too.

Victoria: you should probably cut all power to the entire building it will shut off everything or fry his entire system both would work. Can you do that?

Athena: yea but itll take time. If I could shut down the whole district if I had enough time. (she types again ) alrighty tell me when.

Victoria: Tomorrow, when you guys hit the dinner ill hit the guy. Ill leave the same way I entered. It'll be easy in and out. Looks like well be home for the first of November.

(they all leave the room exept for Alex. Athena leaves as well.)

Victoria: What Alex. Your not going to give me a speech again are you?

Alex: No, no speeches for you. But I am concerned about you. I just wish you would talk about it. I haven’t seen you shed one tear over it and its been 13 years. I have seen you at your weakest moments Vicky I know your not ashamed to cry in front of me. I have never seen you let out any emotions from it.

Victoria: I did show emotion once Alex but you were not there. It was when I put a bullet in that b******s brain. I don’t need any thing after that I got my revenge for what he did. I never needed to cry or morn for any one.

Alex: You always had a weird sense of justice.

Extremely well written! A bit confusing at the start, but makes sence once you get into it.
Well thought out characters and the dialogue bounces back and forth really well.

Only one thing-maybe you could add some details? Like what the room looks like, what they're wearing, maybe delve into it more. But the dialogue is snappy, like I said.

Note from Author, This is not a finished copy, i have actually lost the compleated work that i had finished. So i have to go off the written pages, And what little i have gotten typed,
I have begun to edit what little i have here so i can begin to improve it, and like some of you have said to improve the Charactors a bit, I only Fixed up Act 1 scene 4 so far
