IN THE DARKNESS OF THE NIGHT

IN THE DARKNESS OF THE NIGHT

A Poem by Miss Sharon

IN THE DARKNESS OF THE NIGHT
......
Overwhelm me with your love
Set my lips on fire
Hold me in the morning light
You're my hearts desire

Cradle me in loving arms
Whisper in my ear
Leave me never all alone
When the moon appears

Keep me ever unto thee
Like a gentle prayer
In the darkness of the night
Darling...I'll be there

"In the darkness of the night" started my assumption to be a poem of loss. But this is interesting, is it one of the poems that got published? Who published your poems? That is great. I like how positive this poem is, a bit vulnerable but with a strong element of hope.

Too many love poem go on and on. This one gets the message across powerfully but briefly. Other poets could learn from it.

Thank you very much for your kind words. ~Sharon
The best things happen in the "darkness of the night"A love tryst with two people who dearly commingle...respect and care for each other...no one wants to be alone when the moon peeks out...it's so romantic, one needs a lover to entwine, to cuddle under its beams....your words are lovely Sharon and I like the structure of the poem as well...NICE!
Warmly, B
