BECOMING MUTE

BECOMING MUTE

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

A mouth in trouble!

"
BECOMING MUTE

It's never too late to mess things up
And fall flat on my face.
Most everywhere I look it seems
It's par for our own race.

So many opportunities
Present themselves each day...
You'd think I'd get a paycheck when
I say the things I say!

I know I try so hard to keep
My mouth shut when I should,
But words spill out like bats in flight
As though I never could!

What shall I do to be polite
And garner friends astute?
Perhaps the best that I can do
Is just become a mute!

Never become a mute…. Always say what you mean, no matter who is listening….. everybody has the right to free speech, remember? And that means you too…… I’m sure you have plenty to say….

The pace of the poem is breezy but the message is very serious.
The advent of social media created a democracy of communication.
This captures the communication mayhem the world is bathing in right now.
I wish this piece could be shared on all social media platforms.
Brilliantly written!

Gee
Better to speak your mind, politely if possible, rather than pandering to what you think folk might want to hear :)
Another flawless rhyming poem from your gifted pen

Sometimes regrets are inevitable that come for both cases but I feel what truly matters is how we carry ourselves forward after all these 'efforts of mind'. I enjoy your poem and it is very relatable.

Speak your mind; express your heart; write down your experiences. Our voice is connected to many things; we must use it wisely.
When in love, your eyes will speak.
Marvelous poem

You are welcome Miss Sharon.
There’s a lot of wisdom here , when to speak up and when to remain silent. Think before you speak, don’t speak when you’re angry. All those little pieces of wisdom we were told.

Wow I love this yeah I'm not going to bite my tongue but my grandmother would say, if you're not going something good don't say what you'll regret later. So you're right stay mute. Thank you for sharing.

It's a good write thank you
I'm beginning to think the very same thing. It seems that even when meaning one thing, it can be taken entirely wrong by the hearer, depending on the mood they are in at the time.
Now I must be off, because I've just seen the rain and have some people to growl at that mention it in passing! ☺

A humorous offering here, but it does make a point about human nature. Sometimes, even when we have habits we know we'd like to ditch, we give in to them. Habits, unfortunately, are programmed into our minds, and deprogramming them can take time and hard work.

LOL. I have never quite mastered the art of keeping my thoughts to myself long enough to filter them. Pretty rhyme and a great write. ~Jim
