WHEN I JUST WONDER...WHY?

WHEN I JUST WONDER...WHY?

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Still missing my son.

"
WHILE I JUST WONDER...WHY?

Well, here I sit at Starbucks now
To have my caffeine fix.
With tiredness and depression deep
Among the Autumn mix.

It happens every year it seems
About this time on earth,
As I remember fondly then
The day of your sweet birth.

Your life was much too short my son...
My tears still pool then fall.
The need to have you here with me
Is hurting most of all.

I've heard it said that time will heal,
But I know that's a lie.
Because my broken heart still beats
While I just wonder...why?
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

In loving memory of my son

A beautiful tribute brimming with as much love as it is sadness. I love how effectively the first stanza sets the scene and puts us there with you as you express your thoughts. I have no doubt your son would love this as much as everyone here. I am sorry for your loss.

Gee
A beautiful but heart rending poem.
Would not even want to think of the pain that a parent who loses a child must bear.
Hope you are keeping well, good morning

The grief in this one is genuine. Some losses do respond to the passage of the years, others do not. There may come a time, however, when you may wonder if your son would want you to keep grieving.

And I am sure from up above he looks down and reads your words, knows you will never forget him or stop loving him.

This is a deeply sad and loving tribute in a crisply rhyming verse. Your words convey the depth of agony you feel and dispel the myth that it simply evaporates with time. So sorry you have to feel that way.
