TOO WEAK TO DIE

TOO WEAK TO DIE

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

You decide!

"
TOO WEAK TO DIE

She thought she knew the course of kind
But that was 'fore she lost her mind...
And LONG before that day of play
Where words he never thought to say
Hung helpless in the night

Old wounds lie open for the view
Of those who thought they ever knew
The worth of beauty in the nest
So like a students' knowing test
To judge with broken arms

The stilled and beat-less heart of old
Lies empty in its grave...now cold
With secrets left for those who mourn
And mem'ries for each heart now torn
Too weak to die and so must live

A friend of mine just lost her father and she said he was so weak in the end he couldn't unwrap himself from a shirt that was choking him. Made me think of that reading this. If only we could have the energy left to die with dignity in the end. The remnants of our lives exposed to those who care for us.

May I point out a misspelling that really stands out? Mourn is spelled mourn.

Hang in there; let not your hopes die a thousand death. Live for another day, till the day God calls you home, call us home. Death is never a solution; love is the inclusion; hope is the infusion; arrogance is a delusion.
Live for another day, for another poem, for another reason

You are welcome Miss Sharon
I so empathise with this. So many true and heartbreakingly beautiful lines go together to make this sadly beuatiful whole.

Remember what Emily Dickinson once wrote.
"We have the power to kill but not the power to die"--

Yes, regardless of all of the sad memories we may accrue along the way, we must live.

Nice work Miss Sharon.

Indeed, the pain of old scars, the thought and what ifs and then too weak to put it all away...so very sad.

Those old wounds can reopen and cause such havoc dear Sharon. This is such a sorrowful poem and yet it is finely penned. Sending you the warmest if wishes from across the pond.
