TODAY WAS JUST ANOTHER DAY

TODAY WAS JUST ANOTHER DAY

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

The sameness...yet different-ness of the day-to-day.

"
TODAY WAS JUST ANOTHER DAY

Today was just another day
Like any gone before.
Yet on this day there came to be
The plans of evermore.

They spoke of things that never were...
And yet they rallied 'round,
With simple words and thoughts of old
That made a longing sound.

They seemed to want the very things
That made them what they were,
And when they danced about with glee
All senses were a-blur.

Oh yes, this day was just a day
With nothing new to bring...
But when it passed into the night
I heard the angels sing!

Perhaps on this day, talk was about planning for the future, for old age and what to do about it, even though it was an ordinary day, except the angels did sing; so what does that mean? To bring hope? joy? peace?
I guess it's what one interprets form the writer!
Nice write Sharon,

Your poem makes me imagine myself sitting back and observing others. It is what I do most of the time, spectator others, and your poem made me remember that.

What a lovely review Neville! Thanks ever so much. ~Sharon
We tend to think of all normal days as though they were paper dolls. Yet if we take the time to look closely, we will see that each is unique.

My point to a T my friend! Thank you. ~Sharon
The Angels of Evermore sing long into the night. Then your poetic words took flight! Dancing on the paper no longer empty white they filled the new day with a beautiful sight ... the words we share and write! Inspiring poem Sharon.

What a nice thing to say! Thank you my friend. ~Sharon
Very nice, Miss Sharon. I enjoyed the read. On a technical note you have a typo in the last line "angels". I know you'd want to correct that so as not to mar the beauty of this lovely write. Every day is a blessing. ((hug))) F.
