“Still the night that ever stays,
Closing tight the door.”
Sharon, your lovely poem is so relatable to me. Hiding alone amid secrets and lies of the past is a prison of our own making. The walls close in more and more every day, suffocating us. I know this personally. Your evocative, beautifully laid and rhymed verses express this feeling perfectly. Very meaningful write.

Thanks so much Annette for your beautiful review! You are appreciated my dear. ~Sharon
reminds me of my mother, two faces a public & private one, & lying about anything in her life she felt uncomfortable about revealing!
lovely poem, that's a neat idea of only the 2nd & last line rhyming.

I feel like night is all the time and you find it hard to escape. You are locked in with deceit and lies and everything to touch is tainted. Secrets will be revealed one by one, as tomorrow will reveal more.I believe you know what's in store for you and that is what makes it unbearable. There is much suffering in this piece, but maybe there is hope as well.
Well done Sharon
Best, B

Thank you very much my friend for your beautiful remarks! I appreciate you. ~Sharon
How often do we just want to scream for the whole world to hear, "I am not okay!"
The mask worn to head out suffering from those who spout false compassion... The mask to hide our weakness from our loved ones who need us to be strong. But inside, the pain, the rage, the despair, it rots our core.
Well expressed here. All the things that ultimately only He can ever understand. Nicely done.
