FEED ME TO THE SWINE

FEED ME TO THE SWINE

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Black the eyes of COVID!

"
FEED ME TO THE SWINE

Just feed me to the herd of swine
 Beside the muddy lake.
This life has taken everything
When I was not awake!

It seems I was not diligent
Nor was I 'ere prepared.
To stand instead of sit me down
Upon my derriere.

Where went the days of laughter 'round
And hot dogs by the fire?
The news is fraught with gloom and doom
Of which I often tire.

I'd like to be a child again...
Wipe mustard from my chin.
And black the eyes of COVIDS' face
To help all mankind win!

Hi Sharon, as always your creativity shines through this wonder. I left with a laugh and a SMILE EVEN THOUGH THE PIECE HAD A SERIOUS MESSAGE. You give that covid a black eye. I would like to relive my childhood days, if only to change a few things. Covid is always so close these days. Mind you, it does look as if it is getting a kick up the butt. Funny thing though, every time we think we are getting on top of it, it seems to jump back in. One day, hopefully soon, it shall get more than a black eye. Have a wonderful Saturday. Hugs always....Mike.

This is so good, couldn't help but to smirk at it,
Clever and creative.
I wish this covid would just go away.

Definitely, Covid really is getting in the way of a good night out.
Glum news is dragging the nation down, we really have to start living with it, or we're all finished.

I think we are on our way back to that campfire...and maybe we can laugh together once again...

and people can see that I really still do have a mouth and a nose.

I'll bring the hot dogs! ~Sharon
Although your words pop out with some humor, behind them is a darker side where you are trying to wipe your pain away, and during COVID there was much pain; thankfully now we can all see the light and we won’t have to pretend to be children of yesteryear. Very well written Sharon.
Best, Betty

You’re very welcome!
Read twice, gave a laugh and now smiling - what wonderful meter, what a picture you've created with your words, and in the process - have obliterated the face of COVID with soot, pitch, the long night and all else to deem it invisible. Sadly impossible for now, but dear goodness, you're certainly trying your best! .
