TWINGES AND HINGES

TWINGES AND HINGES

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Growing older is not for the faint of heart!

"
TWINGES AND HINGES

Too many years have passed me by...
I scarcely can believe it.
I slowly move within my space
And wish not to receive it.

What doesn't hurt just does not work...
With twinges in my hinges.
How did this happen I now ask...
The pain, like fire, now singes.

This isn't fair, I scream and shout...
There is no one to listen.
The rain of pain begins to pour
With words that seem to glisten.

I guess it really could be worse,
Though really do I doubt it.
This life is not for sissies, no,
So I'll just pout about it.

Hi Sharon, I love your humorous look at growing old, should I say humorously serious look at growing old. You are right, growing old isn't for sissies. This is a wonderfully flowing write that sings into the mind. One can easily see the visions that you paint with such creative skill. I am like a crab, half the time I can't walk straight. Nothing to do with the drink, I don't drink. Just had a fall a few days ago. Just bruised myself and cracked the rib I am always cracking. That was inside. Growing old, some parts can be fun. Have a wonderful Saturday. Hugs always....Mike.

Thank you for your kind review! ~Sharon
What courage you show in your writing, Sharon.. seems it could be due to a sense of humour edged with oblivion to/of time! Guess we can't do much against age without signing ginormous cheques or walking around, eyes closed so reflections are blanked out and all else in life is missed. Then we're more than likely found homeless cos the bank account's empty. Plus more than likely bruised top to toe cos we can't see where we're going and more importantly, have lost sight literally of all that matters in life - world and all living within it. So what the hell - grow old with as much grace as possible plus fun in and out of every pore! Your words create touches of finely metered logic, make the mind smile and relax. You are your own and others' elixir and should be very proud of it. ;) (edited)

Another wonderful review from a sweet friend! Thank you ever so much. ~Sharon
i love it..... such a fun read about getting old, I can certainly relate to that, although I'm always positive & don't complain !!! i do enjoy reading rhyming poems.

('tho about a year ago I discovered some great arthritis pain relief in taking turmeric with curcumin capsules & about 2 weeks ago I discovered our local grain produce store was selling hemp seed oil for humans & animals, the 2 combined work very well indeed. it rejuvenates me.

It happens. Sadly it happens Sharon, you are so right growing older is not for sissies. I relate and so many more will too even if they refuse to own up to it :) Beautiful composition and both humour and a bit of pathos intermingled here.
