Hi Sharon, I had a wonderful childhood, sadly, many do not, their childhood is a living hell and my heart swells for them. Such deep sorrow went through my heart as I did read down your lines. What scars shall be left throughout their lives? Your creativity has sung such a sorrowful song. Have a wonderful Thursday. Hugs always....Mike.

hello miss sharon
i'm pleased this poem is fictional & not real.
a lovely rhyming write!
would love to read a poem of yours that only describes happiness & fun things in life.
Hello, Miss Sharon! :)
After reading your latest poem, this was quite a disturbing read. I'm glad to see that its fiction. You had me worried. Haha
Thanks for sharing.
I can relate, sort of, but it wasn’t that bad. When I was a little girl, whenever I cried, my grandma locked me in a closet beneath the stairwell in the halls of our apartment. There was no light.
But this is a beautiful poem, so incredibly accurate, and though I can’t say I understand how it feels, it is a touching story. I’m glad this is fictional. But it is very telling and a reminder to us.
My favorite sentence is “downturned smile of Woe.” This phrase is an oxymoron, but it does not exist for that sole purpose. It is a coherent and logical thought.
I don’t often review because I do not feel I am proficient enough to form an opinion, but this poem is fascinating.
The title hints so loudly, Sharon! How sad, honest and terrible such happenings are for children.. and always have been. What should be a wonderful world holds such agony, fear and terrors in it. Whether fact or fiction, people need be aware of how the fragile and weak can be preyed upon, can go through life traumatised. Your words are so gently but honestly laid, Sharon. Thank you..
' ..it started many years ago... When I was just a kid.- But I remember .. .. ' There are 89 ings that can never, never be forgotten.. ' Nor should be - by indifference.
I am with Chris, glad it is fictional. But it is quite real and happens all too often. Kids are made to grow up at such a young age from abuse, neglect, the world going mad...too much to deal with....I feel so lucky I actually had a fairly normal childhood, not forced to grow up before I really grew up.
Poignant write Sharon.

Pleased to hear it's fictional Sharon but for some it isn't. I was fortunate with my childhood, it was happy and loving, but some children suffer nothing but torment and also see, hear and experience stuff that no child should ever be privy to. It scars them for life. Your stanzas, a reminder to us. Expertly penned and leaves me feeling troubled for the misery inflicted on some.
