WOUNDED KNEESA Poem by Miss SharonAt this time of celebration and joy there are far too many who kneel to cry.WOUNDED KNEES It came upon a midnight clear While footsteps crept the lawn No mother deer to call the calf She bore...her newborn fawn No silent night to softly sing Of born new kings and peace No silver bells to peal the night With sweet soft songs to please With sirens blaring harm to those Who walk the streets alone For those who have no one to care And aught to call a home This time was meant for joy to all And presents 'round the tree But it's not so for many souls Who crouch on wounded knees <<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>
