It began like an ordinary day.
The sun rose at its appointed time,
The dog ran to the door to be let out
While the cat just looked at him as if to say...
''There he goes again! Why MUST he
Always run about in circles barking so LOUDLY?''
Her pajama-clad neighbor scuffed about
His yard trying to find the morning paper
And the postman stuffed the mail (always bills)
Into her rusty old tilting to the right
Has seen better days mailbox.
Rising slowly but deliberately, she ambled
Toward the kitchen to make her cup of liquid gold...
That good to the last drop bit of sunshine
In her otherwise weary, lackluster day.
Glancing at the fully loaded revolver on the
Kitchen counter, she remembered he had left
In a huff saying he would NOT be back! She wondered how she could live without him. Or why she would even want to.
She didn't know the answers to those questions And many others racing through her troubled mind. There was however one thing she DID know. She knew beyond a shadow of a doubt That very soon...she would be dead. ~~~~~~~~
How do we ever get over these insurmountable objects in our lives whilst living to tell the tale?
Truth is that we do until we don't and that is true no matter the circumstances.
Should we judge as weak those that can't take any more and act in a way deemed unbecoming to our sensitivities, which isn't that sensitive if you're on the other side of the fence?
So many people see no way to go on, where others find the voice to let others know. One thing we can all agree on, is no one's journey is as easy as it may seem and there but for old Grace's dog, it could be us in this scenario.
We can never judge any book by its cover, but if that book is a person, well we all do judge, don't we?
From the first lines ordinary day, we had the feeling there is never such a thing, and your end confirms it. No one and no thing is ever as ordinary as it may seem.
Now, I wish you an extraordinary day, but only the good kind. 😀
