YOU'D NEVER KNOW

YOU'D NEVER KNOW

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

A bit of cowpoke humor...hopefully!

"
YOU'D NEVER KNOW

You'd never know to look at her...
She seemed so small and frail,
But she'd seen many hardship days,
It's such a lonely tale.

She came from stock of simple folk,
They had no wealth or gold.
But she could best the most of them...
Or so the story's told.

Some fellers at the camp one day
Came at her with a grin.
She told them that they'd best to leave,
Before the night began.

They poked some fun and gave a laugh
Then started to proceed,
To try and take her by the arm...
The tall one took the lead.

When he got close she gave a shriek
That took him by surprise!
Then gathered up her HEAVY purse
And smacked him 'tween the eyes!

He fell right down in mortal pain...
The others ran away.
And after that they listened to
The things she had to say!
~~~
I love it. The rhyme, the humor ... and just the fun of the story itself. Indeed, purses can be quite formidable weapons. ~Jim
sometimes the biggest explosions come in very small packages....looks can be quite deceiving when it comes to strength.
'When he got close she gave a shriek
That took him by surprise!'
Great meter, plus, a pinch of fear and a handful of humour. Tis often the armour in a small woman's make-up. What a purse you advise alongside such a fine poem!
