THE MOUNTAINS ARE CALLING AND I MUST GO!

THE MOUNTAINS ARE CALLING AND I MUST GO!

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. It doesn't get any better than this!

"
From the greening of the foothills
To the snow-capped mountain peaks,
I always yearn to summit there
To hear the angels speak.

At altitude I come alive!
Yes...I was made for this.
I climb upon the boulders
Where I feel such joy and bliss.

No native to such atmosphere...
I have not been here long.
But when I see each winters' snow
My spirit fills with song!

In stillness and in solitude,
I think I hear my name...
The mountains seem to call to me,
And this is why I came!

This poem positively sings.. its meter is so full of joy and energy! Indeed, there are many magical results of making for the heights beyond, whether they be places or goals that create a personal liberty. Guess I try for both, not always successfully as you have certainly and beautifully achieved. This poem is the start to a wonderful day for me, thank you! xx

well done Miss Sharon ... you gave me the experience right along side you ... stillness and solitude not intruded upon ...i was a mist ;)
the latest AARP newsletter had advice for living longer in an article ..one of them was to live in higher altitudes as the thinner air may have something to do with physiological changes that give longer life ... those mountains are intoxicating for sure ..back in the 60s i lived in a log cabin just outside of Estes Ntl Park ... how can one not fall in love with the Rockies!
