SHINRIN-YOKUA Poem by Miss Sharon(SHINRIN-YOKU A walk through the forest....SHINRIN-YOKU The path of nature often winds Through forest, field and stream. With vistas pure and storm-cloud free... It seems to be a dream. No righteous indignation here Nor fighting in the fray, Just peaceful thought and vision true To pay delinquent stays. The longing of a heart that beats In sorrow's dark domain, The forest breeze and smell of pine Brings solace from the pain. And shinrin-yoku in the sight Of creatures great and small Brings harmony to those who live To hear the wildness call. *** © 2016 Sharon Peeples The term shinrin-yoku (literally “forest bathing”) comes from Japanese culture, which has a long tradition of living harmoniously with nature. © 2017 Miss SharonReviews
