There's always something, she would say To thank the Lord for every day. I knew she spoke those words in truth, But some days I can be aloof.
Today has been one of "those" days. I find it difficult to pray. The passing of my only son, Fills up my thoughts 'till setting sun.
I know he's in a better place, And someday I will see his face... But I am weary of my lot That leaves me lonely and besot.
The days seem long and nights so cold, And pardon me to be so bold. There's always something not "quite right"... Because you're never in my sight. *** "Forever missing you my son."
My heart aches for your loss as I read another beautiful tribute to his memory. Poets like you don't come along very often. I confess to writing free verse as well as rhyme, and I'm happy as a little piggie to find someone who writes beautifully in that classic, rhymed and metered form. Thank you again xo

Yes, sometimes look on the bright side doesn't cut it.
Actually words don't usually cut it either.
But you know that yourself.
The poem you posted can be a great tribute to your son. If it helps, post more.

Thank you so much for a lovely and compassionate response to this write! ~Sharon
It is during these holidays that makes us thankful for the smallest things in our lives, as well as the large things... I am so sorry for the loss of your son (you must have heard this a billion times...) and I know it must not be easy during these happy holidays. I lost my sister a couple days after Christmas, so that holiday always pushes me into sorrow and longing... Nothing ever seems to be right, like you say, because their presence makes our lives whole and without them... Well, you already know. I really liked this, great job...!
