REQUIEM FOR THE LOST

REQUIEM FOR THE LOST

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Darkness takes a host....

"

REQUIEM FOR THE LOST

Beneath the limbs of barren oak
Where strewn are fallen leaves,
There lies a host of living dead
Where on the ground they freeze.

No warning shout to hail the winds
No offer for a prayer,
To search for mortals in the realm
Within the earth's cold lair.

No witness to be-cry the fate
Of one who went astray,
No love to offer 'ere a kiss
To show the wounds' display.

The dirge and requiem set stage
For all the lost once saved.
Eternal bleeds the night of fear
Upon the written page.
~~

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
