THE ROCKS ABOVE

THE ROCKS ABOVE

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

The shelter of an aspen breeze...

"

THE ROCKS ABOVE

Where days are bright and thoughts are true
To mystery and prayer,
Small creatures scurry in their play,
To kiss the mountain air.

The shelter of an aspen breeze
Soft brushes on my cheek,
To wash away the burden of
A muddied stagnant creek.

The rocks above a treeline path
Which beckons me from sleep,
Slow whispers what my heart desires
With secrets left to keep.

Please lead me to the rocks above
Each forest hill and plain,
To overlook the world below
Which offers only pain.

if only we could find a spot on that mountain, above the pain of life...a perch to sit comfortably...

but life is life isn't it? and the pain and heartbreak are on a branch we can not avoid...the ground gets muddy and our feet get stuck in it...even if eventually we find a place above to rest.

beautiful poem.
