FLOWERS FOR MOMMY

FLOWERS FOR MOMMY

FLOWERS FOR MOMMY

She stole my heart so long ago
That munchkin angel with a glow
Of angel's breath and lemon drops
Her child-like beauty...curly top!

No other child upon this earth
Will ever match her love or worth
An only daughter by design
Of One who knew that I would find..

A simple truth within those eyes
That held the key...my golden prize
I gave her life...she gave me mine
To reach where only angels dine

The years of time have seen her through
So many heartaches known by few
And yet remains her child-like faith
To see tomorow as a place

That welcomes those who seek and search
And so I place the flowers perched
"These are for you" she used to say...
It seems like only yesterday.
~~

To my beautiful daughter Tammy...how I love you!

Okay, now wiping a tear away... .. catching breath. Apart from the gentle meter and the form in which you've created this poem: what matters more are the words. Dear goodness they strike home, each and every one, sweetly, sincerely put. Your Tammy is as much fortunate in having you as a mummy as you are to have her in your life. (You)

Such a beautiful poem! This one really touched my heart. The mother/daughter bond really is special. There are few things more beautiful than the innocence of a child. Anything that can retain a childlike quality truly is a blessing on this Earth.

Wow, I loved this. I could read it over and over. So smooth and each word is as delicate as the topic. This was a pure joy. A lucky little girl.

It's a special love between a mother and daughter. I am both and so this touched my heart in a very special way. So well written and it does indeed bring those emotions forth that make the heart swell and the eyes well. Beautiful poem.

It was my pleasure and you are welcome Miss Sharon. :)
This one touched my heart, Sharon. The years have flown since our children picked daisies for us. The memories are treasures. "I gave her life...she gave me mine" I believe our children do give us life....life as mommies and grandmas. We change after we have them....and we will never be the same again. The maternal love in this one is heartfelt. A bit poignant and beautifully written. Lydi**
