WINGS OF LACEA Poem by Miss SharonDedicated to the memory of my son...WINGS OF LACE In purple-tinted wings of lace And angels breath to grace this place... I see your eyes of blue. And though I know this too shall pass My heart accepts the looking glass... Though it is never you. By day or night I war and fight To hold you in my arms in light... But dreaming does not last. I seek the norm yet see your form, So still and lifeless in this storm... That ever holds me fast. The good die young it has been said And it is truth...for you are dead... I wish to god were me. Your suffering should have been mine I've wished it so for all of time And yet...it cannot be. Unfair....unjust I cry and mourn! My only son....to be firstborn, I know you've been set free. The years go by and still I cry, And ever ask the reason why... 'Twas you instead of me. ~~ "Forever loving and missing you son."
