TICKET TO RIDE

TICKET TO RIDE

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Love's true lies....

"
TICKET TO RIDE

The moon was full of autumn
As it pierced the thick air,
Creating a bond for lovers
Like static cling to woolen caps.

The jocund retreat caused luminary
Reflections on the water to seem
Opaque compared to the fire dancing in
His eyes, and one need not be clairvoyant
 To surmise the evening's outcome.

With familiar stealth he took her
To himself with all the finesse
Of a freight train on holiday rushing
Towards the good-times destination.

Collecting tickets along the way as they passed
Sleepy towns on thin ribbons of highway,
He left her unprepared to face the dawn...
Feeling like a reflection in the
 Discarded wineglass...used and broken.

A touch of romance with a touch of a mountain cabin rendezvous, like a harlequin. I love the ending !
