![]() WHEN WINTER CRADLES SPRINGA Poem by Miss Sharon![]() Winter beckons spring....![]() WHEN WINTER CRADLES SPRING (Rime couee) As snow begins her journey from these peaks, With melting season's change where beauty speaks... I hear her sweetly sing. She often stops to linger on the creek, With winds of chill to give her last critique... When winter cradles spring. She slowly makes her way past colors brown, And bending low she moists the barren ground... As if to say good bye. Then bidding fond adieu she makes a sound, Which I am want to hear while homeward bound... My spirit oft' times cries. Approaching Lily Lake I see her lace, The morning snowdrift settles with a trace... Upon the naked trees. But nestled in between the rocks in place, I see a tiny flower's yellow face... And know that spring birthed these. The small and fragile gift of this bouquet, Brings back the words of winter heard today... My time is nevermore. When winter cradles spring...she's here to stay, I bid farewell to ermine pow'rs at play... And waltz through season's door. ~~ (Written in 2006) © 2016 Miss SharonFeatured Review
