A holiday poem of love...

SCATTERED PETALS

Our candle glows all through the night
An opus of eternal light
Memorial of a feast of love
And comfort from a snow white dove

A friendship bond to savor long
Into the hour where bleeds the song
At half-past eight the parcel stands
Upon the shores of kissing sands

A holiday meant just for two
And even when the day is through
I wrap your love in bows of red
And scatter petals on our bed

With twinkle of your star-filled eyes
I never need to ask the why
Adrift in pools of sorrow's death....
I give to you my final breath
