THE CHISELED PEN

THE CHISELED PEN

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

That importune urge to write....

"

  THE CHISLED PEN

I want to write....I need to write.
But I loathe to see those squirley little words
Aligned on a spotless, pristine virgin page!
It seems so one dimensional, pointless and....lonely.

There is never any escaping it....that urgent feeling of
Allowing one's blood to spill all over an innocent page
Which would have been quite happy remaining blank.

The importunity to show AND tell can make
Any person nauseous ad infinitum well into the
Silently screaming night, where the only sound
Shattering the midnight calm is the sickening, mimicking,
Scratch scratch, scratch of the writer's chiseled pen!

I find that though I "soil" many, many beautifully empty sheets with words, l seldom manage to get those words to a point where I like them enough to share them. I like the cross between irony and sarcasm here, knowing how much you love to write. Very nicely done. ~Jim

ahh ! but the beauty it can bring, when that paper is stained with the writers blood
and the feelings pour out on that parchment. that`s where movies and books come from, your pain, your love
all your emotions of life.

the chiseled heart writes chiseled words...and those scratches in the night are like ghost sounds, the spirit of what's left of love...and the white page like a gentle Casper having to have his spirit mauled by those very words.

love it.

And I love your review Jacob! Thanks so much for responding to "the cranky muse." ~Sharon
You chisel words like an artist and spread them on virgin paper. You are seasoned and appreciated. .....:)......
