GIVING SANCTUARY

GIVING SANCTUARY

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Mother nature at her best! (Photo by Erik Stensland)

"

In the stillness of the meadow
Where the river holds the skies,
A patience flowers...blooming calm
Within the soul that cries.

This earth, the mighty alchemist
Which deems each day anew,
In never ending cycles of
Each season which she grew...

Distills with restoration, every
Color, leaf and cloud...
Where Autumns breath soft touches you
And thunder claps aloud.

These hills give sanctuary to
The wild, the beast and tame.
Remote from conquests of man's deeds,
Tranquility remains.

The imagery you have painted with your words is spiritual. I live in a country where autumn and winter are only words but I do believe I would feel the same emotions if we had four seasons instead of two. Thank you for this.

The photo is of a beautiful place in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. I am privileged to be able to hike here year 'round! The mountain that appears to be flat on top is Longs Peak, one of Colorado's 42 mountains over 14,000 feet tall.
