DART TO DEATHA Poem by Miss SharonWhy do squirrels stop in the middle of the road then turn around and run into approaching traffic? He darted through the traffic maze Without a single care. He'd done it many times before... A simple daily fare. The way he stopped in middle stride Was just perhaps the trick, That did him in that early morn... It almost made me sick. I saw his tiny furry form All stiff upon the ground... With hollow eyes that could not see, The danger all around. My squirrely friend your fate was sealed On highway one nineteen. I wish you well in other worlds... Where cars have never been. ~~ © 2015 Miss SharonFeatured Review
