THE MEMORY BOX

Remembering my children's childhood...

I hold them in my mem'ry box... My children as they play. With paints and crayons strewn about On any given day. They're always chasing happy days, And living unafraid. Their paintings are a gift to me And at my feet are laid. My mem'ry box is filled with love... And joy and happiness. The children that were loaned to me Are angels sweetly dressed. Their lives were driv'n by innocence... I wish they still were small. The mem'ry box is closed for now, And yet....their spirits call. ~~

A mother's heart will remember and enjoy her little ones, and reminisce about them later. Likewise, a teacher's heart will always be there with her students. I can relate to this. Well, my students are a bit older, but i can completely understand that overwhelming feeling that gushes all over me as i read this poem and think of them.

Yes..I AM appreciating them in the now Jacob. I've already given one back to death but still have my daughter to treasure in the now. Memories of my only son who is no longer with me are at times heartbreaking and at other times they fill me with joy. Thank you for your time Jacob! ~Sharon
