PRAYER OF TENEBRAE

PRAYER OF TENEBRAE

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

The true meaning of Easter.

"

Alone was He in dark Gethsemane.
Before the world was made God chose the plan.
Tenebrae...darkness...there on bended knee,
En-capsuled by agape love for man.

Those closest friends on which He once relied,
In fearful steps betrayed him 'neath the cross.
Yet spoke He not a word in bitter pride,
Nor left them to their retched, wanton dross.

Such love, no mortal can perceive nor give.
To think that He would die for those so cruel.
And as I humbly bow because I live,
I pledge my life...allowing Him to rule.

Though life's vicissitudes may take their toll.,
As days turn into years...I love Him more!
His sacrificial death redeemed my soul.
Forever He's the One I will adore!

'Alone was He in dark Gethsemane.' I liked your opener, it was enough to form the rest of your work.
